Model Overview of The Buick Enclave's For Sale in Middletown, CT

2017 Buick Enclave Information

2017 Buick Enclave

Buick Enclave is large premium crossover SUV. Cousin to the Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia, Buicks three-row crossover debuted as a 2008 model. A new Sport Touring option has been introduced to the 2017 Buick Enclave lineup, with a Satin Black ice-tone grille and 20-inch chromed wheels. Buick Enclave also continues to offer the Tuscan package that debuted for 2016.

A good-looking SUV for family use, the Enclave has aged well, as we expected when it was introduced. Classy on the outside, its roomy and comfortable inside, especially when fitted with captains chairs in the second row. Materials quality excels within the cabin.

Despite its ample size, the Buick Enclave gets respectable fuel-economy estimates, much better than the truck-based Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon, and Chevrolet Suburban.

Buicks 3.6-liter V6 develops 288 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque of calm performance, teamed with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is available on all except the base model.

Passengers and cargo get plenty of room within an Enclave, which is among the largest SUVs built by General Motors divisions, and among the most spacious. If fitted with leather seating, the Enclave rivals the feel and finish of several luxury competitors.

Seven-passenger seating is standard, but an eight-passenger configuration with a second-row bench is available. Additional options include a rear-seat entertainment system. Offered for both Leather and Premium trim levels, the new Sport Touring package comes in a choice of three special-edition body colors: White Frost Tricoat, Crimson Red Metallic and Ebony Twilight Metallic.

Safety scores are impressive. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has given the Enclave a 5-star overall rating. The score included five stars in front- and side-impact testing and four stars in the calculated rollover risk. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has granted Buicks larger SUV Good ratings in each of its tests, except for the difficult small-overlap frontal crash test, which has not been undertaken.

Available safety equipment includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision warning. However, Enclave lacks the automatic emergency braking that has become almost standard in this category over the past few years.

Side-curtain airbags protect all three rows, while a center-front airbag is mounted on the inboard side of the drivers seat. A rearview camera is standard.

The 2017 Enclave will be the last of the current generation.

2016 Buick Enclave Information

2016 Buick Enclave

Ready to seat five to eight people, depending on configuration, Buicks midsize crossover SUV shares its basic front-wheel-drive structure with the GMC Acadia and Chevrolet Traverse. Built with a unibodied chassis rather than a separate frame, the Buick Enclave promises carlike road behavior.

Only one powertrain is offered: a 3.6-liter V6 engine driving a 6-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is available, to increase sure-footedness and confidence when the weather turns harsh.

Smooth-riding and comfortable, with a spacious and attractive interior, the Enclave handles like a relatively large vehicle, especially on narrow roads. Fuel economy fails to edge past the average for its class, but its markedly better than youd get with a full-size, truck-based GMC Yukon or Cadillac Escalade.

Introduced for 2008, Enclave was the first member of this GM crossover group. Though comparatively expensive, Buicks version is an appropriate choice for larger families, especially with the third-row seat installed. Overall utility is comparable to a minivan. Second-row seating is fine for either two or three adults, and the third-row seat is more spacious than those in some competitors. Third-row seats fold completely flat, creating a huge load floor behind the second row. With all seats upright, cargo space behind the rear seat totals 23 cubic feet.

Little has changed for 2016, except for newly standard 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels. Also new is OnStar 4G LTE connectivity, which can provide a built-in wi-fi hotspot. A new Tuscan appearance package is available for models that use bronze to highlight the waterfall grille and its 20-inch chrome wheels.

IntelliLink, GMs telematics/infotainment system, is standard. Digital features also include Bluetooth hands-free calling and audio streaming, and Pandora and Stitcher audio apps. A rearview camera is standard, along with a USB port, HD radio, satellite radio, and voice recognition. Navigation is optional.

Enclave has earned a five-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). That score includes five stars each for the front and side-impact tests and four stars for the rollover test. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gives the Enclave Good ratings for all tests. A standard front-center airbag helps protect front occupants in the event of a side impact. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available. So are lane-departure and forward-collision warnings.

2014 Buick Enclave Information

2014 Buick Enclave

Buick Enclave dominates the class of large, luxury crossover sport-utilities. Handsome, comfortable and efficient, Enclave delivers luxury, value and three-row flexibility. Its referred to as a crossover because it crosses the line between car and SUV. Though built on a car-like unit-body structure, it offers the cargo capacity of a sport-utility.

Introduced for the 2008 model year, Buick Enclave was substantially revised for 2013 and carried over to 2014 relatively unchanged. Newly available safety features include Forward Collision Alert and a Lane Departure Warning. Buicks IntelliLink infotainment system gains SiriusXM Tune Select and text-to-voice features for 2014, and dual-charge USB ports have been added to the rear of the center console.

Enclave comes with a 288-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 and an excellent 6-speed Hydramatic automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard. All-wheel drive is optional. Though a large vehicle, the 2014 Enclave rates an EPA-estimated 17/24 mpg City/Highway with front-wheel drive, 16/22 mpg City/Highway with all-wheel drive.

Big 19- or 20-inch wheels make a bold style statement, while LED headlights, taillights and running lights enhance Enclaves modern character. The Buick IntelliLink system supports audio streaming of Pandora Internet radio and Stitcher SmartRadio as well as available SiriusXM satellite radio. In other words, it has a fancy audio system.

The key to any luxury crossover is packaging, and the Buick Enclave leads its class by providing more cargo space than any of the competition. It delivers more third-row legroom than the rest, and it features a brilliant second-row sliding seat provision that makes third-row entry simple and convenient.

Whenever Enclave passengers are onboard, safety is paramount. Buick earned National Highway Traffic Administrations highest five-star overall vehicle safety score and Enclave was named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety when it was launched. The 2014 Buick Enclave is equipped with all of the mandatory airbag protections but also has a front center airbag that inflates from the inboard side of the drivers seat, protecting the driver and front-seat passenger from impacting each other during a severe side impact.

Simply put, the Buick Enclave is the complete package. It seats seven (or eight, with an optional center bench seat). With volumes of space, a crisp and recently freshened interior, and highway performance and agility that belie its considerable weight and mass, this is a full-size crossover family sport-utility vehicle to be taken seriously. It boasts better cruising range than Acura MDX and Volvo XC90.

2013 Buick Enclave Information

2013 Buick Enclave

Buick Enclave is battling big-name competition; Acura, Volvo, Audi, Lincoln, and Mercedes-Benz all want the lead in the prestigious three-row luxury crossover segment. Yet the handsome, comfortable and efficient Buick Enclave effortlessly dominates this class in terms of sales. That's evidence of an exceptionally well-received package that delivers solid crossover luxury, deep value and three-row flexibility the public enthusiastically responds to.

Revised for 2013, Buick Enclave represents an astutely restated rendering of the crossover SUV, with Buick determined to drive it into more upscale American garages.

The 2013 Enclave benefits from a beautifully restyled interior and dashboard. Embellished with elegant ice-blue ambient lighting, brightly colored new climate controls and real upholstery stitching lends the driving compartment a feeling of premium quality. And for the technologically acute, the new Buick IntelliLink system supports audio streaming of Pandora Internet radio and Stitcher SmartRadio as well as available Sirius/XM satellite radio.

Externally, the 2013 Enclave is recognizably updated. A larger, more pronounced Buick waterfall grille delivers clear brand identification, while body-color rocker moldings and front and rear fascias communicate the Enclave's premium character. These are further accented by tasteful chrome highlighting. Big 19- and 20-inch wheels make a bold style statement, while LED headlights, taillights and running lights continue the Enclave's modern character.

New for the 2013 Enclave is a recalibrated suspension, delivering smoother, more comfortable touring, while at the same time providing well-controlled agility and road sensitivity during maneuvering. This is a difficult balance to achieve, but the Enclave has done it nicely.

Mechanically, the excellent Enclave 6-speed Hydramatic automatic transmission is carried over from the previous year, as is the fine V6 engine, delivering decent fuel mileage for this very large package, at 17/23 mpg City/Highway in front-wheel-drive form.

The key to any luxury crossover, however, is packaging, and the 2013 Enclave leads its class by providing more cargo space than any of the competition. It delivers more third-row legroom than the rest, and it features a brilliant second-row sliding seat provision that makes third-row entry simple and convenient.

And while Enclave passengers are onboard, safety is paramount. In 2011, this Buick earned National Highway Traffic Administration's highest five-star overall vehicle safety score and was named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The new Enclave is equipped with all of the same mandatory airbag protections, but it features, with Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia, something no other vehicle in the world can claim. Its industry-first front center airbag inflates from the inboard side of the driver's seat, protecting the driver and front-seat passenger from impacting each other during a severe side impact. This great idea will surely find its way into other large cars as soon as is feasible.

Simply put, the Buick Enclave is the complete package. Seating seven (or eight, with center bench at no extra cost), the American buying public has enthusiastically embraced this large and welcoming vehicle. With volumes of space, a crisp and newly freshened interior, and highway performance and agility that belie its considerable weight and mass, this is a full-size crossover family sport-utility vehicle to be taken very seriously. Better still, it boasts better cruising range than Acura MDX, Volvo XC90 and Mercedes-Benz R350. Small wonder it's Buick's best-selling model.
